In conjunction with the optional heated seats, seat ventilation is available for all sports seat versions. Moreover, the new 911 Carrera models are available with the tried and tested Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) with ceramic disc brakes and new six-piston mono bloc fixed calipers on the front axle as an option. As a result, for the same engine output, the new generation 911 Carrera combines enhanced performance with significantly lower fuel consumption - in short "Porsche Intelligent Performance".As with the predecessor models, the PCCB's brake calipers are colored yellow, providing a very strong visual point of differentiation from the production brake systems.
A critical contribution to the impressive performance enhancement of the new generation 911 is made by Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) - available as an option for the 911 Carrera S. Equipped with this system, the open-top models as well achieves a new level in terms of lateral acceleration and handling. This increases the maximum cornering speeds. In the new 911, Porsche Torque vectoring (PTV) yet ensures Greater agility, featured as standard in the open-top 911 Carrera S and available as an optional extra for the Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet. The system is available in two versions: the PTV version with mechanical differential lock when twinned with the manual transmission and in MDD as vehicles with electronically controlled PTV Plus, fully variable differential lock.
The dimensions of the 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine in the Carrera S remained unchanged. Both engines feature direct fuel injection, variable intake valve timing and valve lift switching (VarioCam Plus) and breathe through an especially flow-optimized and Thus Spake efficiency-enhanced intake manifold.
One of the most popular Porsche 911 models with every model generation are the 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S Coupe and Convertibles. The 911 variants feature the newest version of the all-wheel drive system that powered the 997-generation models, wider bodywork for a more aggressive stance, special Porsche wheels, and better performance. Much of the same technological advancements as the new 991-generation 911 models are still featured underneath the sheet metal to ensure that the new all-wheel drive variants have the performance to back up their Porsche badge.
